Microcontroller based design
Versa Design can provde hardware and firmware design solutions for a wide variety of microncontrollers, among them:
- 8 bit microcontrollers: Microchip PIC, Freescale HC08 and HCS08, Atmel AVR
- 16-bit microcontrollers: Renesas M16C series (specially 28-Tiny and 62P series)
- 32-bit microcontroolers: Motorola/Freescale Coldfire and ARM in all their flavours: Freescale iMX, Philips ARM serie LPC, ST and Texas Instrumets.
We have also performed designs based on CPLDs and FPGAs from Xilinx, and we have all the means to design in VHDL and for such configurable logic.
Networks and connectivity
We can include the following connectivity options in our designs:
- PC: USB, RS232 and RS485 serial communications
- Mobile device connectivity: Bluetooth platforms. With our own chipset and communication stack, we can offer you cost-effective solutions.

PCB routing
PCB routing oriented to complay with EMC and electrical security regulations
Versa Design performs 2 and 4 layer PCB routing with low to medium complexity. We have experience on routing PCBs according to specifical electrical security regulations, like the 60601-1 medical electrical equipment regulation and the 60335-1 specification for safety of household and similar electrical appliances.
Old or obsolete PCB capture and modification
We can import most PCB documentation available on the market. We have a wide range of tools, some of them developed by ourselves. We can do modifications directly on gerber files, and we can update PCBs desiged with obsolete programs.

Thanks to our experience with professional PCB assembly manufacturers, we can offer you a complete production management solution for small (10-100 pieces) and medium (100 - 10000) production series.
Our knowledge in the field and our contacts with different local suppliers enable us to ensure a proper material purchase and storage, prior to any PCB assembly operation. If you have an electronic design to be manufactured, we can offer you a complete autonomous solution that involves design, routing, PCB manufacturing and assembly, and functional testing, freeing you from any manufacturing tasks.

Embedded Software
Firmware development for embedded systems
Versa Design has a highly-qualified work force capable of complex level software development for a large number of different fields:
- Embedded multimedia control systems: TFT and touch screen control. We can offer your highly competitive prices in this field both in hardware and software solutions, like a VGA-TFT managed by a 32 bit microcontroller by less than 30€ per board (reference price for 1k pieces excluding screen) running a royalty-free RTOS.
- Real-time embedded operating systems: we have expertise mainly in VxWorks based developments, although we can face a design with any RTOS present in the marked today.
- MISRA-C coding standards for the automotive industry.
